Sustainability
Sustainability is a core value of Replin and the wider AW Hainsworth group, and is managed in a variety of ways:
Fibres:
Replin fabrics are woven using the finest natural fibres, including sheep’s wool, alpaca, and even hemp.
We only source wool from farms with which we have a long-term relationship, that practice responsible land management, and that have respect for animal welfare.
Processes:
Our fabrics are woven in our UK mill by our expert team who ensure continuity and quality.
We’ve implemented continuous environmental impact tracking and committed to cutting our carbon emissions year on year on our journey towards Net Zero.
Our achievements in the past year include:
– Reducing the hot water in wet processing by 11.5%
– Reducing the use of compressed air by 7.8%
– 91k kWh of electricity saved with LED lighting
– Reaching Planet Mark Certified Business status, through verifying our carbon emissions
– Reaching Zero the Landfill status
Fabrics:
Our fabrics are extremely durable, designed and woven with high tensile strength and resistance to abrasion.
Our Steadfast collection, for seating and vertical surfaces, uses undyed wool and alpaca to eliminate dyeing waste.
People:
We invest in staff training, development and well-being, as retaining employees allows us to be more sustainable.
Transparency:
We publish an annual sustainability report, to ensure we remain accountable in this area.
Our most recent Sustainability Report is now available to download – click here. To read previous reports, and our group Sustainability initiatives, please visit our parent site here.
Environmental
We are regularly visited by both environmental and governmental bodies as well as customers to ensure our management and working practices meet and often exceed the highest standards laid down for our industry.
An in house Quality Assurance Department incorporating a test laboratory staffed by fully qualified personnel enables us to provide a quality service of the highest standard to our customers.
Reduction of electricity and improving the recycling of yarn along with various other projects are currently put into practice within the mill so as to constantly improve environmental performance.
